How I make dual screen wallpapers?
My primary monitor is a 20 inch Samsung LCD and my secondary monitor is a 32 inch LG LED both run at full HD resolution i.e 1920 X 1080 pixels. The way to make wallpaper for this is the total width of the wallpaper should be both resolution widths added together. In this case it was 1920 + 1920 = 3840 pixels wide. Height of the wallpaper is the largest monitor's pixel height. Since both monitors have same height in resolution, I take the image height as 1080. So what I need for my dual screen setup is a 3840 X 1080 image. I make a single image in GIMP that spans across both monitors. It is a fairly straightforward process. These wallpapers usually fit most dual screens whose combines redolution is less than 3840x1080 without leaving gaps. If your setup has a higher resolution than mine, you may expect blank spaces on the top margins.
