The Chevrolet Cruze Eco

When it comes to a non hybrid vehicle that is excellent on gas, it doesn’t get much better than the Chevy Cruze with the Eco trim. It’s quite good looking due to its smooth lines and prominent front grille. Take a look inside the cabin and you’ll be greeted with a world class interior and a large number of safety features. However what makes this auto stand out from the rest is fuel economy; the Eco model gets a staggering 42 mpg on the highway. This is a good thing; especially when the price of gas is constantly rising.

You can choose from two engines; a 1.4 Ltr V4 engine with 138 hp and and a 1.8 Ltr V4 engine with 136 hp for the LS version. The engine is designed to work in conjunction with Direct Injection technology which helps the vehicle make the most use out of its fuel. What makes it special is that the Cruze Eco currently gets the best mileage for a non-hybrid on the market! The Eco model has shutters in its front grille; these shutters close when driving at fast speeds in order to get the most mileage. An optional six speed automatic transmission is available.

Luxurious amenities such as a steering wheel wrapped in leather, seats which can be heated on cold days, an adjustable driver’s seat and the ability to plug in your favorite music player so you can jam while you’re on the road. There is sufficient room to seat five persons. The 2LT version comes with remote start and an available sunroof while the LTZ sports Parking Assist, Automatic Climate Control and Bluetooth compatibility. Trunk space is quite generous; there is 15 cubic of space available.

GMC Engineers have put safety forefront. There are ten air bags in place, traction control and an electronic stability control. A tire pressure system lets you know when your tires need to be adjusted. The extensive warranty covers 100k miles or 5 years, whichever comes sooner.

If you are not ready to get a hybrid then consider the Cruze Eco if you are concerned about fuel economy. Forty two miles per gallon on the interstate is the number for all other auto makers to beat if they want to remain competitive. Pricing for the Cruze Eco starts at around twenty thousand dollars, a solid price for the most efficient non hybrid available.
